HC Deb 04 March 1965 vol 707 c286W
Mr. Woof

asked the President of the Board of Trade what estimate he has made of migration due to declining industry and the future level of employment in the Blaydon area.

Mr. Jay

Estimates of migration are not available. Future employment in Blaydon depends very largely on the attraction of new industry. I am glad to be able to report encouraging progress as a result of which some 1,600 jobs are in prospect from new projects already approved for the area.
