§ Mr. RossIn July the then Home Secretary and Secretary of State for Scotland met representatives of the employers' sides of the separate negotiating bodies for the probation service in England and Wales and in Scotland. I understand that the English representatives indicated that they would be glad to form part of a single negotiating body, and that the Scottish representatives undertook that the Scottish local authority associations would consider the proposals further. I expect to receive their views shortly.
