asked the Postmaster-General if he will speed up the adoption of a colour television system and the start of services so as to enable British-made colour television sets to be on show at the 1967 radio and television international exhibition in Paris.

I appreciate my hon. Friend's point. However, the colour subgroup of the International Radio Consultative Committee is to meet towards the end of this month to see if it can recommend the adoption of a common system for Europe. We must see what transpires at the meeting.
