§ 66. Sir W. Teelingasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will make a statement on the present position of the discussions with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on the Baltic bonded debt.
§ Mr. George ThomsonNegotiations between the British and Soviet Governments on the subject of outstanding post-1939 claims on both sides began as arranged in London on 20th January. After 37 meetings had been held, it was decided on 19th February that there should be an interval in the negotiations in order to provide both sides with the necessary opportunity to clarify the large number of detailed technical and legal points which had emerged. The date for the resumption of the negotiations has not yet been decided.
