§ Mr. MarshAlthough this firm stated in April that 2,000 workers would be surplus to requirements, no notices were in fact issued until 11th June when 250 warning notices were issued to take effect on 18th June. 163 workers who left voluntarily are known to have been placed in or to have found other work. Most of these have gone into the aircraft or associated industries.
