asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will publish the following information in the OFFICIAL REPORT covering Scotland during the period since 31st October, 1964, relating to development districts, namely, the number of firms that have given a definite undertaking to establish new factories, the total area involved in square feet, the number of males and females for whom employment is likely to be provided, the number of males and females likely to be employed at a later date following expansion plans, the num-

The longer term employment prospects of these proposed developments are not known.

Of the advance factories authorised for Scotland under programmes announced before the 31st October, 1964, three were allocated after that date. All those completed are occupied. Seven now under construction and one due to be started have not yet been allocated. None of the additional nine advance factories authorised for Scotland in November, 1964, has reached the construction stage. All these advance factories are in development districts.
