§ Mr. George Y. Mackieasked the Minister of Transport, as the result of the application of the travel and accident loss assessment method, what trunk roads have been found to be in most urgent need of being supplemented by motorways.
§ Mr. Tom FraserThe results of my Department's studies of travel and accident loss on trunk roads are being taken into account in the preparation of my plans for the improvement of inter-urban routes in the 1970s. Whether new or improved roads should be motorways or all-purpose trunk roads will need to be decided in each case in the light of all the relevent factors, the most important of which are the nature and anticipated volumes of traffic and the relative costs of construction.
