The Earl of Dalkeithasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will in future make public the reports that are submitted to him by the Statutory Amenity Committee appointed to advise him on matters relating to the siting and camouflage of electrical transmission lines.
§ Mr. RossNo such report has yet been submitted. The Amenity Committee and the Boards examine on the ground proposals for major new transmission lines. Adjustments are discussed, and there has been no serious disagreement which the Committee has felt obliged to raise formally with me. If a proposal leads to a public inquiry the relevant correspondence between the Committee and the Board is always made available for the purposes of the inquiry.
