§ Mr. McLarenasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science why the list of direct grant schools has been closed.
§ Mr. CroslandBetween 1957, when the list was reopened and 1961, out of the 44 schools which applied 15 satisfied the requirements laid down by the previous Government, which in January, 1962, announced that they had no intention at that time of making any further additions to the list.
As I informed the hon. Member on 15th July, I have myself no plans for adding to it.
