Williamsasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations what representations he has made as guarantor to the Government of Cyprus regarding their refusal, in contravention of the constitution, to permit the return to Cyprus of Turkish-Cypriots who are studying in universities abroad.
§ Mr. BottomleyIn present circumstances we consider that the United Nations authorities in the island, in consultation with the parties concerned, are best placed to deal with problems of this kind. We have already been in touch with the United Nations regarding this matter.
