§ Mr. MellishThe most recent information on the number of owner-occupied dwellings in Nottingham is in the report of the 1961 Census which gives a figure of 24,325. "Housing Statistics, 1963–64", published by the Institute of Municipal Treasurers and Accountants shows a total of 34,425 municipally owned houses in Nottingham of which 33,728 were built by the city council and 697 were acquired.
