HL Deb 08 July 1965 vol 267 c1528WA
LORD SEGAL

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, to obviate the use of blue Air-Mail Labels, they will now consider the issue of special Air-Mail stamps.

LORD HOBSON

The Universal Postal Convention requires that surcharged air mail correspondence should bear a special blue air mail label: alternatively a printed indication that the item is to go by air mail may be used. My right honourable friend considers that the use of special air mail stamps in addition to these internationally required air mail markings would serve no useful purpose and could in fact cause some confusion.

House adjourned at eight minutes before eight o'clock.
