HC Deb 07 July 1965 vol 715 cc227-8W
Mr. Gregor Mackenzie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what rules his Department lays down for the garaging of invalid cars.

Mr. Ross

My general policy is that invalid vehicles should be garaged wherever possible, but the supply of an invalid vehicle is not withheld when garaging is not practicable.

Mr. Gregor Mackenzie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many hours of instruction are given to disabled persons issued with Government invalid cars.

Mr. Ross

Disabled persons provided with invalid cars are required to make their own arrangements for driving instruction but those issued with invalid tricycles are given three hours instruction or more if necessary. In both cases the Ministry of Transport driving test has to be taken.
