HC Deb 07 July 1965 vol 715 c228W
Mr. Gregor Mackenzie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many ordinary family cars, converted for use by disabled persons, have been issued by his Department.

Mr. Ross

445 four-seater cars were on issue to disabled persons at 31st May, 1965. Of these 310 have been converted to hand controls to make it possible for the disabled person to drive the car.

Mr. Gregor Mackenzie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the average cost of an ordinary family car issued to a disabled person; and what is the average cost of conversion to hand control.

Mr. Ross

I regret I am unable to disclose the contract price of these vehicles or their conversion to hand controls.
