HC Deb 05 July 1965 vol 715 c157W
50 and 51. Mr. Cole

asked the Minister of Health (1) if he will give consideration to the provision of physiotherapy for patients in their own homes in those cases where patients are not fit enough to be transported to and from hospital;

(2) if he will arrange for physiotherapy in their own homes to be available under the National Health Service for patients when such treatment is recommended by local general practitioners and consultants.

Mr. Loughlin

Physiotherapy is regarded as a hospital service which should be prescribed by a consultant. The consultant may prescribe domiciliary physiotherapy if he thinks it necessary.
