§ Mr. BoydenMy right hon. Friend attaches great importance to the part trade unions can play in furthering the use of industrialised building. I myself recently presided at a valuable and cordial discussion between members of the Ministry's staff and representatives of the trade unions. We hope to arrange further meetings.

Dr. Bennettasked the Minister of Public Building and Works whether it is still his policy to promote the construction of houses and other buildings in this country from imported timber; whether this policy has been reviewed in the light of the continuing balance of payments difficulties; and with what result.
§ Mr. BoydenIt is still my right hon. Friend's policy to encourage industrialised building as a means to increase productivity. Where the use of timber can assist this at an economic price we should like to see it increase.
