§ Mr. Murrayasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what teacher-exchange agreements there are with countries in Eastern Europe.
§ Mr. CroslandThere are no agreements with countries in Eastern Europe which provide for the exchange of teachers in their teaching capacity. The Anglo-Soviet Cultural Agreement includes provision for exchange visits by teachers of English and Russian to attend courses of study in those languages, and also for visits by university professors and lecturers for purposes of study and professional contact. The cultural programmes agreed with Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Rumania provide for similar short-term visits by university personnel and other educational specialists.
