§ 42. Sir H. Legge-Bourkeasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what progress is being made in the setting up of the Social Science Research Council; and when he will announce either the charter for this Council or its terms of reference.
§ Mr. CroslandEstablishing a new Research Council involves a great deal of detailed work; this is proceeding as quickly as possible. The Science and Technology Act, 1965, requires a statement of the objects of the new Council to be approved by Parliament and it is unlikely that this can be done before next Session.
