§ Mr. BennIt is an offence under the Post Office Act, 1953, to send indecent or obscene matter through the post; and I am satisfied that we do all we reasonably can to see that the Act is not contravened. My hon. Friend the Assistant Postmaster-General explained the position of the Post Office in this matter when he spoke on the Motion for the Adjournment on 18th December; I can now add that proceedings are pending in the specific case mentioned on that occasion. Over 2,000 cases have been dealt with in the last three years.
