HC Deb 04 February 1965 vol 705 cc322-3W
Mr. Eldon Griffiths

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what plans he has for ensuring that the National Association of Schoolmasters is represented in the current negotiations on teachers' salaries.

Mr. Crosland

My predecessor has already informed the parties concerned, including the National Association of Schoolmasters, that he intends that they should have the same representation on the committees to be set up under the Remuneration of Teachers Bill at present before Parliament as they had on the corresponding Burnham Committees. He also informed the parties that he was ready to re-examine the question of representation when the present negotiations are completed, if asked to do so. I repeat this undertaking.
