§ 48. Mr. Francis Noel-Bakerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government when the Boundary Commission will review the boundaries of Swindon; when Swindon will be given county borough status; and when the municipal wards will be reorganised, in view of the great increase in population in recent years.
§ Mr. CrossmanI understand that the Commission intend to begin their review this year and it will then be open to the council to put forward proposals for county borough status. The council may at any time submit a petition for the alteration of the borough wards under the procedure laid down in the Local Government Act, 1933.
