HC Deb 02 February 1965 vol 705 cc255-6W
56. Dame Joan Vickers

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he is aware of the difficulties of Service landlords, officers and other ranks, who want to let their houses, furnished or unfurnished, when they are posted overseas; and if he will make provision for these people in the forthcoming Rent Act.

Mr. Crossman

I am aware of the concern that has been expressed, but I do not think that the Protection from Eviction Act should in practice give rise to difficulties for Service landlords. I will, however, bear the point in mind in preparing the new ligislation on rents.
