HC Deb 02 February 1965 vol 705 c257W
Mr. Freeson

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he intends to alter the target of 400,000 completed new dwellings in 1965 in view of the shortage of bricks, copper tubing, plaster board and other building materials and fittings which has become increasingly apparent in the past nine months.

Mr. Crossman

My right hon. Friend the Minister of Public Building and Works and I are keeping a close watch on the supply of building materials. We think that the shortages can be overcome.
