Mr. Patrick Jenkinasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance whether she will amend the National Assistance Regulations so as to allow the National Assistance Board to disregard any addition to the basic National Health Insurance retirement pension earned by a person who continues to work after the normal retirement age.
§ Mr. PentlandSuch a change could not be done by regulations. My right hon. Friend has no proposals to make to amend a basic provision of the National Assistance Act itself.
§ Mr. Shepherdasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance if she 193W will seek to bring the work of the National Assistance Board within the ambit of her Department with a view to putting the major part of National Assistance payments on a pensions basis.
