§ 46. Mr. Malcolm MacMillanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps have been taken by the Highlands and Islands Development Board to revive and extend the Fishery Training Scheme in the Western Isles, and provide assistance with the necessary deposit or otherwise, to crews wanting to purchase fishing boats, since his reference to the Board last month of the suggestion of the hon. Member for the Western Isles.
§ Mr. RossThis and other matters concerning the fishing industry in the Highlands and Islands have been the subject of preliminary discussions between the Board and my Department, and the White Fish Authority and the Herring 437W Industry Board. I shall certainly consider most carefully any proposals which the Board, in consultation with other authorities, may submit to me.
