§ Mr. Merlyn Reesasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he is aware of the shortage of professional staff in the construction and allied industries; and what steps are being taken to increase the educational and training 121W facilities for surveyors, quantity surveyors, valuers and others in co-operation with the relevant professional bodies.
§ Mr. PrenticeBetween 1961 and 1964 the number of students following full-time courses in surveying and related subjects at grant-aided establishments of further education more than doubled, from 653 to 1,445. At the same time the number attending part-time day courses also increased substantially. So far as I am aware, the facilities in these colleges are adequate to accommodate all those who seek to take courses in these subjects.
