§ Mr. GunterThe Act makes every local authority responsible for appointing inspectors to enforce its general provisions in their area. The Central Advisory Inspectorate advise local authorities on recruitment problems when requested. Those authorities who have had difficulty in filling these posts report that this is due to the national shortage of persons with experience of inspection work under comparable legislation.
