§ 129. Sir T. Beamishasked the Secretary of State for Defence to what extent he is satisfied that no one in a civilian reserved occupation is recruited into or retained in a branch of the Reserve Forces in which he would not be eligible to serve in the event of call-up; and what machinery exists to ensure that this is the case.
§ Mr. MulleyApplications by men and women over the age of 26 for service in the Reserve Forces are normally accepted only if their qualifications and civil employment would not prevent their military service in an emergency. I am at present reviewing the procedure by which this information is kept up to date during a volunteer's membership of the Reserve Forces.
