§ Mr. Bradleyasked the Minister of transport why he has agreed to a proposal transferring the interests of British Road Services, Meat Haulage, to a private company; and if he is satisfied that the interests of staff formerly employed in a nationalised undertaking have been fully protected.
§ Mr. Tom FraserI am satisfied that the arrangement proposed by the Transport Holding Company is likely to result in the best use being made of the assets of B.R.S. (Meat Haulage) Ltd. in the very difficult circumstances that at present obtain in the meat haulage trade.
The T.H.C. have assured me that the interests of the staff are protected by the established machinery for dealing with staff matters in consultation with the unions concerned.
