§ Mr. George ThomasMy Department is concerned only with emergency telephone calls to the police and the fire service. It is for individual police and fire authorities to decide whether arrangements for tape recording these calls are appropriate in the circumstances of their areas. Some authorities already use the system, and others are considering doing so.
