HC Deb 02 August 1965 vol 717 c252W
Mr. Hugh Jenkins

asked the Minister of Transport if he will give instructions that a pedestrian phase be introduced into the traffic control signals at Roehampton Lane-High Street-Danebury Avenue, in accordance with undertakings given by the London County Council to the Metropolitan Borough of Wandsworth, in view of the need to provide for the safety of pedestrians, especially of elderly people and children, at this crossing.

Mr. Tom Fraser

The Greater London Council, as highway authority for Roehampton Lane, are responsible for the traffic control signals which came into operation at this junction on 16th July. I understand that they have the junction under study and will keep the needs of pedestrians in particular in mind. The equipment installed would permit the introduction of a pedestrian phase if required.
