HC Deb 02 August 1965 vol 717 cc234-5W
Mr. Rose

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government (1) whether he will review the problem of tenants of prefabricated houses in the Broadhurst Park area, Moston, with a view to extending the time limit, which he has fixed, for demolition beyond 31st December, 1965;

(2) what representations he has received from individuals and from the Manchester Corporation concerning the date which he has fixed for the demolition of prefabricated houses on the Broadhurst Park estate, Moston, Manchester; and what replies he has sent.

Mr. Mellish

These houses are built on an open space. The authorisation given to use Broadhurst Park for this purpose was extended until 31st December, 1965, by the Manchester Corporation Act, 1962. Neither my right hon. Friend nor the Corporation have power to give a further extension.

My right hon. Friend has received no representations apart from those by my hon. Friend to which I replied on 29th July.
