asked the Minister of Labour if, in view of the deterioration in the labour dispute at Falmouth Docks, he will institute a public inquiry into the situation.

Representatives of the Amalgamated Engineering Union have been invited to meet those of the Shipbuilding Employers Federation and of the company at my Ministry to discuss this dispute as a matter of urgency. In these circumstances, an inquiry is not appropriate.
