§ 58. Mr. Fisherasked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs if he will refer the postmen's pay settlement to the Incomes and Prices Board for consideration.
§ Mr. FoleyNo. We are satisfied that postmen are an exceptional case of the kind provided for in paragraph 15(iv) of the recent White Paper. The settlement, which will last until the end of next year, has two aims. First, it puts postmen's pay right in 1964 and 1965. Secondly, it provides for an increase in 1966 which is clearly in line with the general policy.
