HC Deb 14 April 1965 vol 710 cc198-9W
Mr. Baxter

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when and on what terms the site for the university at Stirling, at present held by his Department as a hospital, will be made available to the sponsoring committee.

Mr. Ross

I am glad to be able to say that the Government have decided to make a gift of the entire Airthrey Castle estate of 300 acres to the new university. The necessary Treasury minute will be laid in due course. Entry to the ground other than the castle buildings will be given as desired during the current year, and to the castle itself about four years from now.
