HC Deb 14 April 1965 vol 710 cc219-20W
Mr. Currie

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will have inquiries made into the cause of the late delivery of morning mail in the Donaghadee, County Down, urban and rural areas, and arrange for the morning mail in these areas to be delivered not later than 9 a.m. in the future.

Mr. Joseph Slater

Building development in the Donaghadee area has led to the first delivery of mail being delayed.

It would not be practicable to complete the delivery in areas like this as early as 9 a.m. without disproportionate expense. By my right hon. Friend is arranging for some improvements to be made in delivery times in the Donaghadee area and for the first delivery in the town itself to be completed by about 9.15 a.m.
