HC Deb 09 April 1965 vol 710 cc112-3W
Lady Megan Lloyd-George

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what reply he has made to the representations from milk producers in the south-eastern region of the Milk Marketing Scheme; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peart

A complaint was presented to me in January on behalf of certain producers in the South-Eastern region, relating to the regional price structure of the Milk Marketing Board, with the request that this complaint should be referred to the Committee of Investigation for England and Wales. After careful consideration I have informed the complainants' Solicitors that I am unable to accede to their request, since I consider that the complaint is unsuitable for investigation by this procedure and is in any case of a kind which properly falls to be resolved through the arrangements available to producers and the Board within the framework of the Scheme.
