§ Sir J. Gilmourasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what information he has about the number of pre-school playgroups formed in Scotland; and what advice he has given to local authorities about the policy they should adopt towards them.
§ Mr. RossPre-school playgroups are as a rule privately organised, but I understand that there are in Scotland 12 groups in membership of the National Association of Pre-School Playgroups. I think that this subject is one which should be left to the discretion of local authorities.
