HC Deb 02 April 1965 vol 709 cc301-2W
Mr. Ogden

asked the Minister of Transport what consideration has been given to the independent report on the transport needs of Merseyside, entitled "Liverpool Underground", a copy of which has been sent to him; what reply he has sent; and if he will make an interim statement on its proposals.

Mr. Tom Fraser

I have read this report with interest. One of the aims of the comprehensive transport studies now being planned collectively by the local authorities on Merseyside, with which my Ministry is fully associated, is to enable the merits of alternative possible public transport systems to be fully considered. Meanwhile it would be wrong for me to comment on particular ideas or proposals.
