HC Deb 02 April 1965 vol 709 c289W
Mr. Hamling

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he is satisfied that educational interests have been consulted sufficiently to make possible an early introduction of courses by the various industrial training boards; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Crosland

There are education members on all industrial training boards, and the Education Departments are represented by assessors. There will, therefore, be full educational participation in the formulation by the boards of recommendations on industrial training and the associated further education.

As a result of the work of the boards, I hope to see a substantial increase in the numbers of young people given the opportunity to take further education courses.
