HC Deb 02 April 1965 vol 709 c294W
Mr. Onslow

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what increase or decrease in staff there has been in the Department under his control since 16th October, 1964; and what increase or decrease he anticipates in the period up to 15th October, 1965.

Sir F. Soskice

The staff of the Home Office (including immigration and prison officers) has increased by 347 since October, 1964. I expect a further increase of about 500 by October, 1965.
