§ Mr. Tom FraserThe following table gives provisional details of expenditure from central and local government funds on new construction and major improvements on trunk roads and classified roads in 1963–4 in each county in England, in so far as these are available from statistical returns made by the local highway authorities It excludes payments made direct by the Minister to contractors, mostly for work done on motorway188W schemes, records of which are not kept on a county basis.
