HC Deb 23 November 1964 vol 702 c132W
Mr. Jackson

asked the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs what special assistance Her Majesty's Government have provided for Red Cross work in the Yemen.

Mr. George Thomson

In September this year, the Government of day made a special grant of £5,000 to the British Red Cross Society for the purposes of relief work which is being carried out in the Yemen under the auspices of the International Red Cross.

Parliament will in due course be asked to vote that amount by means of a Supplementary Estimate. In the meantime an advance has been obtained from the Civil Contingencies Fund.
