§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations if he is aware that the policy of Her Majesty's Government in the last 13 years of ending bulk purchases and long contracts with Commonwealth countries has, by causing employment difficulties there, increased migration from the Commonwealth to the United Kingdom; and whether he will take the necessary action to review this policy.
§ Mr. BottomleyI am not aware of any representations from other Commonwealth Governments on the grounds mentioned by my hon. Friend. As regards the future, the Government are now in the course of a general policy review.
