§ 33. Mr. Chapmanasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what study he has made of the proposal, made in conjunction with the Birmingham City Council, a copy of which has been sent to him, for a technological university of international standing on a 50-acre site to be made specially available in the heart of Birmingham; and whether, in order to encourage this scheme, he will in principle designate the proposed university as one of the five special institutions for scientific and technological education and research recommended by the Robbins Report.
§ Sir E. BoyleNo such proposals have been received. I am however aware of site questions affecting the future of the Birmingham College of Advanced Technology. These are being studied.
