§ 44. Sir C. Osborneasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what reports he has received from local authorities about the overcrowding and unsatisfactory housing accommodation being suffered by Commonwealth immigrants; how many persons are affected; which are the worse areas; and if he will make a statement.
§ Sir K. JosephI have received no such reports. I am aware that immigration from the Commonwealth has in-56W tensified the housing problems of some local authorities, but I take the absence of reports on this subject to mean that housing authorities look at their problems in terms of the whole community and not in terms of any one section. I am certain that this is the right approach.
