§ Dr. A. Thompsonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware of the dissatisfaction among British nationals who were inmates in Nazi concentration camps at the progress of compensation negotiations with the West German Government; whether he will take steps to speed up these negotiations; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerThe negotiations are proceeding as quickly as possible but they are inevitably complicated. I would refer the hon. Member to the explanation given by my hon. Friend, the then Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, in the Adjournment debate on 15th July, 1963, about Mrs. G. M. Lindell. These are confidential negotiations between Governments and I do not think it would be useful for me to make a more detailed statement at this stage.
