HC Deb 04 March 1964 vol 690 c224W
51. Mr. Mapp

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that two and sometimes three sets of log sheets for the same journey are being made out by some commercial vehicle drivers; and if he will take steps to stop this practice.

Mr. Marples

There is no objection to duplicate records as such. The keeping of false records in any form is an offence under the Road Traffic Act, 1960, and the enforcement staffs of the licensing authorities take widespread action against it. Last year 8,500 convictions were obtained for records offences.
