HC Deb 04 March 1964 vol 690 cc231-2W
Mr. Gower

asked the Minister of Transport what proposals for major capital expenditure have been submitted to him by the British Transport Docks Board for improving docks facilities at Barry to cope with the increased traffic which is expected there.

Mr. Marples

The British Transport Docks Board has schemes involving substantial expenditure at Barry in its forward investment programme, including plans for now coaling appliances, but so far no specific project has been submitted to me for approval. Detailed discussions about the coal facilities are in progress between the Docks Board and the National Coal Board.
