HC Deb 30 July 1964 vol 699 c368W
50. Commander Kerans

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is now the policy of Her Majesty's Government, following the meeting of representatives from his Department with those from the United States of America, France, West Germany and Italy on the French proposals for international co-operation in cancer research; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Hogg

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave to the hon. Member for Hemsworth (Mr. Beaney) on 23rd April.

Discussion is proceeding on the basis of the draft Convention embodying a modified version of the original French proposals, which is, in general, acceptable to Her Majesty's Government. A further international meeting is expected to take place in the early autumn.
